I have been challenged to open up more about myself and stop being so closed off. Smile2.gif

I am an army brat by birth. My parents are from Mississippi, though I was born at Fort Sill in Oklahoma. I have four brothers and I am the second oldest. We are a military family with my oldest brothers pending time in the Marines, myself spending 6 years in the Air Force, the third oldest being an Army lifer, the fourth turning into an Airfare lifer and the youngest being smart enough not to sign up!

I spent 6 years in the Air Force and spent then in South Korea, Japan and at Ft Meade in Maryland. The ironybeing I never went on a single deployment. The irony comes in, because I left the Air Force and volunteered to go to Iraq as a contractor. I spent three years in Iraq as a contractor. I'm not sure if that qualifies me as crazy or just weird. I met some of my closest friends while in Iraq so it worked out well for me.

I'll add more to what I have been doing post Iraq in the coming days.

When I was 5 years old I read an advertisement for a Postal job that paid $10 an hour. This was the 80s and I thought that qualified as filthy rich. I wanted to be a Postal worker until I hit my early teens and realised that wasn't enough to make you rich. So that dream ended and I decided I wanted to be a writer. Procrastination is a terrible thing. I've been writing the Great American fantasy novel for almost 30 years. It's going to be great when I finish it right before I die in my mid 90s.
