This is not an advertisement for my business I promise.
As some people know I have a mineral makeup business. Next month I'm participating in a sample exchange and I'm trying to work out how I want to present my product. I decided to send a business card with each sample so that they have all of my contact information and then put a label on the sample itself with a couple short makeup tips, the company name and my URL at the bottom. I'm doing this because I'm sending what we call "multi-purpose" mineral samples which means it can be used for more than just your face, like it can be mixed with lip gloss or nail polish and used those ways. So I figured it would be a good idea to market that idea right off the bat so that even if the color isn't something they'd wear as eyeshadow they might consider using it for something else or know someone else who'd use it before just tossing it. (Since I have no idea what kind of customer the sample is going to I had to just pick some colors that I felt would work for almost anyone).
Now onto the problem itself, my supplier has started using smaller sample baggies quite recently and when I planned for this sample exchange the labels I purchased were for baggies that were a bit bigger so when I e-mailed them about it they suggested just putting the tips on my business card instead of buying new labels and starting all over. After having a discussion with my mentor she had mentioned that people might be likely to lose or throw away the makeup but keep the card but then I considered what i'd be most likely to do, I'd probably throw the card on my desk and it would get lost in the abyss but if I liked the makeup it would be right there with all of my other makeup in my cosmetics case and I'd be able to find it at all times.
So my question for you is-
Do you think you'd be more likely to keep the sample or the business card around?
