I'm Bryan, and I was born on the summer solstice. A free spirited musician, writer, and all around entertainer, I'm looking to make my way in this insane world through creative means. Endless curiosity about everything makes life really interesting, and being forthright about any misgivings is what keeps me going with no regrets.
I respect and trust people initially, which sometimes leads to my demise, but one has to live to learn. I have no problem saying, "I don't know" in all honesty, and stand to be corrected about anything with gratitude.
Being from south Carolina is a mixed bag. I do like the little city of Spartanburg here, there seems to be more creative folks here per capita then most places I'd say.
Being born on the cusp of Gemini and Cancer, I always wondered if that meant I have three personalities, with Gemini representing twins and all. Maybe someone out there really into astrology could sort that out for me.
In any event, yeah, I might be crazy, but as someone or another said, to be sane in an insane world is insanity.

Interests
I'm a musician, (bass/guitar/sing), and a writer for my local indie paper and local 'zines. I make strange and bizarre digital art via photoshop. I enjoy going to music festivals and seeing live music in general. Simply love being around positive people, having thought provoking conversations, and dancing like a liquid-robo-ninja.
I try to spend my time constructively for the most part, I'm all about learning anything and everything, especially philosophy, universal ethics, history, fundamental law/government, economics, it sounds boring I know, but it really is fascinating. Learning about anarcho-capitalism seemed to be the accumulating factor of all that. Just the basic thing of the initiation of force (or threat of) upon the masses for stuff as fundamental as taxation, it really switched up my paradigm.
I search out interesting art everyday, and drink way too much coffee. I've been stay up every night till the sun rises for ages, and keep the company of a happy dog named Loki, which I named after the mischievous giant in Norse mythology, and rightly so come to find out. (he's got a mind of his own)
I opted out of owning a TV about two years ago, and no microwave here either. I don't drink soda, and very rarely do I eat fast food. I drink kombucha mushroom tea for my health, I eat fresh veggies from the garden, and deer meat thanks to the hunters in the family. I live on my own, just me and my dog, and I don't have any intention of marriage, children, or settling down of any sort.
Who knows what the future may bring? I just wanna get my kicks before this whole shit house goes up in flames, as Jim once said, ..but not at the expense of anyone else mind you. Just having fun till whatever comes around next crosses the sphere, and I guess that's all one can do for the most part.
Music
The recently postponed "good 'ol days" for me was playing music for a living with the already firmly established "Plum Hollow" band for half a decade. Traveling around the southeast playing at the major colleges was nothing less then a life of adventurous adventure.
I still help promote and host outdoor festivals, run a local networking site for musicians and venues in my area, and write for the indie paper in my town. Some of my music can be heard online at http://www.myspace.com/dangchang
I also had a jam band on the side for a few years called "Smilin' Jack" where in its short span we released an album and traveled across the country as far as Salt Lake city, coming out of South Carolina.

My preference in musical taste range from jazz, bluegrass, swing, folk, rock, classical, jungle/break beats, blues, and just anything fun in general. I can appreciate all music for what it is, and the effort it takes to create good music.
Beck is my most listened to artist, as his approach of versatility and good humor is something I strive for in my own music as well.
