Ok im sure you've all had them, the Jehovah's witnesses, these new fangled weirdo churches, evangalists etc etc come round your door, trying to tell you Jesus' needs to save you etc etc. Being a bit of a student of the history of religion I do like to taunt them, as most of them dotn know anything outside the bible. So last night I had the 3 guys, you know the long black trench coats, the hats, bible in hand, a plethora of leaflets on how not to sin.
They opened with the usual 'do you beleive in Jesus Christ'. When i said no you could see there eyes light up and one went into the pre rehearsed speil about Jesus the savious etc etc. Having jsut finished reading a book on the origins of religion which tie in the pre historic and shamanic use of Halocongenics, and the similarities between the drug / natural induced trance experiences and UFO abductee's experience with many things in the bible where man supposedly interacts with god, i explained this theory to them. You could see the panic in their faces not expecting this, but they tried to continue with the son of god / virgin birth etc stories to counter me. It was then i pulled out the neolithic chambered cairns and there alignment to the winter soltice and the 7 year rising of venus at this time, which is where this story originated to give creedence to new leaders and also the recorded sexual activities of the Quamran community where jesus was supposed to have been apart of (to long to go into here). The looks of confusion and self doubt on there faces was a site to behold
However, it was about this time i noticed I had missed the first half hour of V for Vendeta on Sky Movies and I had been really looking forward to perving over Natalie Portman.
So next time should
A) Not answer the door and pretend im not in
B) Check the TV listing and press record on my DVD player before answering the door |
