Every story has an ending. Some stories are defined by their endings (The Sixth Sense). Some endings are bittersweet (The Elephant Man). Some are outright happy (take your pick). Some endings are downright depressing (Requium For A Dream). And some endings are changed to make them seem happier (Little Shop of Horrors for one).
I don't buy a happy ending. But what do you think? Do you prefer the hero's triumph or his complete - or at the very least, partial - failure?
