I have often wondered about the symbolism behind giving flowers as a gift. "Here's a dozen roses to represent how much I love you." yet those roses are going to wilt and die. To me it seems like giving flowers is saying "yes I may love you now but my love is fleeting and will eventually wilt away." So am I reading too much into the gift of giving flowers.
