"People ask me why I do what I do with the military with a war going on and ask me if I'm some kind of a war monger or something....I just look at them and not really say anything at all...they don't understand if they have never been there or had this life. It's not about me, it's about the man next to you when the bullets start flying and that's it...that's all there is to it....I don't do it for the glory, or the medals or the respect. I do it for my country, and the guy in the foxhole next to me....so you don't have to. It's not for Duty, Honor, Country...it's for loyalty...knowing that I would put my life on the line anf give my all for the others I serve with as they would for me to bring them all back home. With the new orders we just recieved about the deployment, that's all I can do.....just train hard and teach what I have to teach to others in hopes that they will be able to learn from me and we all come home safe......
"I was that, which others cared not to be. I went where others feared to go and did what others failed to do. I asked nothing of those that gave nothing, and reluctantly, accepted the thought of eternal lonliness....should I fail. I have seen the face of terror, felt the chill of fear, warmed to the touch of love. I have hoped, pained, and cried. But foremost, lived in times others would say, best forgotten. At the very least, in later days, I will be able to say with great pride, that I was indeed a SOLDIER.....
