Let's say I'm in love with a man, a man who is very good to me, makes me laugh and feel better on those oh so crappy days, treats me like the goddess I have delusions of being...BUT I know this man has a history of having affairs with married woman, by his own admission.
Now, I have not been told or in any way been led to believe that he has himself strayed while in prior relationships.
So,
A. Should his past indifference to the marriages of the women he had been with before indicate to me that he would have the same irreverance to the sanctity of our own union?
Or
B. Should I trust the man to love me and be faithful, disregarding his past affairs as mere opportunities taken because he was free to do so at the time and figured if the women don't respect their own marriages, he was not obligated to either? |
