I've noticed alot in the news lately that overseas people are boycotting products made from kangaroos such as football boots and meat products due to the fact that kangaroos are a supposedly endangered species. This amazes me since there are more kangaroos in Australia now than when Australia was first settled over 200 years ago and are in plague proportions in some parts of the country. Kangaroo products are readily available throughout Oz with hardly any issues from anyone and you can even buy kangaroo steaks at the supermarket, (which are delicious and extremely healthy buy the way).
So my question...... If people were better informed/educated would these boycotts end or would they continue because people think they are cute and cuddly animals that should be protected regardless of the circumstances. |
