Ok, I have become disabled, it's a part of my life now and I accept that. The real question is why should myself and other people in the same situation have to pay two to three timesa as much for handicapped items. I refuse to pay $20K for an 11 year old hancicap van. I can get the same thing but without the handicap ramp for a scooter or wheel chair for 7-9000. People on disability such as my self do not make a whole lot of money and yet we have to dole out more to keep as much of our independance as we can. Another example is a wall oven and cooktop will cost 3 times as much for a new standard range. Even an electric range with the knobs where someone who is wheelchair bound is 250 more. Housing is the same way as a handicap equipped house is more expensive than a normal one. Where is the sense and fairness in it. I have had to give up alot of things because my disabiliy, which is payment enough. How much more should I be required to pay?
