Ok so I was looking for ways to speed up my computer until I found out that Dell, among with other factory built computers such as Compaq and Gateway lock the BIOS so that you cannot adjust cpu speed. I then thought about buying a whole new processor but decided that there just has to be another way without spending over $200. I google searched ways to overclock a Dell when I came across this web site: home.austin.rr.com/waterdogs2/xps420.htm
So I tried this technique and now my comp runs at 2.99Ghz from 2.40. Is anyone else trying to uprage their pc's but just don't have the money for it? Has anyone else ever heard of this technique? I thought this was just a hoax until I tried it...and it works!
