The day before yesterday my daughter got on her school bus after school like any other day. She is 12 and in the 6th grade. She was on the bus and another child kept bothering her(this child is always bothering her and she has reported it). She raised her hand twice to get the driver's attention. The bus was moving, but still in the school parking lot. The driver didn't pay any attention to my daughter and this child kept hollering at her. So my daughter tells the child to "Shut the HECK up!". At that time, the school bus driver stops the bus, and tells my daughter to get out. Mind you it is POURING DOWN RAIN and the bus is full of kids. The driver tells my daughter that "NO ONE THAT SAYS SHUT THE HELL UP IS GOING TO RIDE MY BUS!!" The VP of the school came out and took my daughter back inside..then called me to pick her up.
My daughter has NEVER been in any trouble. No detentions, no bad conference reports, good grades..No warnings from the driver..NOTHING..NO PROBLEM AT ALL. She is not perfect..but she has never EVER had to be disciplined by anyone at any of the schools she has attended.
I talked to the bus driver..and the director of the Transportation Department for the schools...They are defending the driver..I watched the tape of the incident..and my daughter told the truth..but the driver is still not being punished. The Director of Transportation swears my daughter said this on the tape..I watched the tape with her over and over..SHE DIDN'T say HELL.
They are acting as if they did nothing wrong..What would you do??
Would You Contact an attorney?? |
