I was listening to this song by Tommy Shane Steiner, What if She's an Angel? Made me think of a situation in my neighborhood.
My family moved to this neighborhood a little while ago. A few months after we moved here there was an incident with a neighbor and her daughter. Everyone was picking up their kids at the bus stop after school. Cindy and her daughter were the first to leave. They stopped in the middle of the road and wouldn't let anyone pass. The daughter got out of the car crying and repeatedly saying " why do you hate us, just leave us alone". By the way its in the middle of winter with snow on the ground. Finally a guy got out of his car went to talk to the little girl and got her back in the car after talking to the little girl's mom. Well everyone went home. Cindy drove around the neighborhood pulling into peoples driveways and sitting there. The police were called. They told everyone to leave the family alone and stay away from them, that they were very unstable. My family heard stories about how the mother was pushed down the stairs by her husband( true or not I don't know) and how there is screaming all the time from the house.
The other day I was taking care of my neighbors dog, walking it in the back yard, and I heard screaming from the house. The mom was yelling "stop, your hurting me" and other things similar.
The police had told us to ignore them and that they had people that check in on them to make sure that everything is okay. I ignored what I heard and left after I took care of the dog. My question is should I have called the police just in case or it wouldn't have made a difference any? |
