I worked for a marketing/research company for 2 1/2 years and I was laid off this morning. Apparently it's no longer necessary for a heavily staffed quality control department to have a manager- who knew?!
My brother worked for this company as well - I helped him get the job over a year ago. He was laid off this afternoon.
My lease is up on our apartment (my brother lives with me), and all I have to do is put in notice if I want to move. Should I sign a new lease (when I don't have a job yet) or admit defeat and talk to Mom about moving back home? And should I go nuts and take the first job I can find, or wait it out, collect unemployment (never collected it before), and try to find something that I like?
