Rock, Punk, Deathrock: Motley Crue, Social Distortion, Guns~N~Roses The Ramones, GG Allin, Suicidal Tendancies, NOFX, Wednesday 13, Blitzkid... I think Twisted Sister is one of the most underrated bands ever because their music was overshadowed by their gimmick.
There is a song called "Motley Crue" by a band called the Jackalopes. It sums it ups nicely for me:
