I have a crush on someone!
16
I wen to school to become a teacher but found out that was like volunteering to be ugly. So I became a rock critic, writing for Crawdaddy (one of two freelancers, the other being John Lennon) and then for Stereo magazine. I took a job on the crime beat and covered police and fire in Fairfield for the Fairfield Citizen and then the Bridgeport Post. Got bored/sick/tired of the police beat and took myself to Paris. When I came back I freelanced stuff to Creative Computing, Digital; Audio Magazine, inCider and A+. My first book was published and somewhere in there I had a daughter. Also got scrambled in a side-on collision. Worked in an office editing and writing for High Tech Marketing and Sports Marketing News. They folded and after more freelance I started publishing The Sports Marketing Letter. That thing lasted 14 years. I made and lost a million dollars, had my 15 minutes of fame and found that I enjoyed being recognized in the street.I started acting in amateur plays and sang semi-pro at Carnegie Hall. I offered advice to executives at the NFL and Major League Baseball, was a guest in the Mets dugout, appeared on Nightline, ESPN, CNN and in Time, Newsweek and all the papers. I traveled halfway around the world and did business all the way around the world. Then I had my triple bypass and it all started to slip away. C'est la vie! Wrote another book and am happier than ever writing about military history. Not rich, mind you, but happy...
