EMERALD Ah, the beautiful emerald! I have to admit, this is one of my favorite stones! The way to my heart is through an emerald! The emerald is actually a variety of beryl. The brilliant green color is caused by an inclusion of either chromium or vanadium. The emerald is the gemstone of spring and as such, is the stone of new beginnings. It's also the stone of joy and happiness. Who could help but be happy in the presence of an emerald? Emeralds have the unique ability to reveal the truth. Hold or wear an emerald when in a situation where you need clarity and truth. The emerald will strengthen your intuition and help you discern truth from falsehood. Because of this quality, the emerald is also the stone one would choose to declare fidelity to a lover. Emeralds vibrate in tune to the heart chakra. A diamond may be forever, but an emerald is true to the end. Because of it's rich green color, emeralds have been used as prosperity stones. Any green stone can be used for prosperity, but the emerald has the added ability to ensure the prosperity stays with you longer. Placing an emerald under the pillow is said to enhance dreams, and if you are single, it will reveal your future lover to you in a dream. Holding an emerald in your left hand while meditating will give you a deeper spiritual insight. The emerald is a deeply spiritual gem, and as such, is not to be taken lightly.
