One of the biggest debates is ongoing over the new book by Eckhart Tolle concerning a "new earth" mentality. There is a short portion of his first chapter online even as I write this mumm. He begins right where he loses me at "114 million years ago." Again, here is another individual assuming the age of the earth via evolution and the number always seems to be climbing higher and higher on the assumed "age" of the earth.
He will be part of the ongoing scholarship since the days of Darwin and the assuptions of science today concerning global warming. I might mention that the global warming advocates are actually a small percentage of real scientists who regard global warming as a fact. Pop science of the age is not new at all but is the continued proposal that man has the actual ego and ability to destroy the planet, when in fact this earth is fart more apt to recover from every disaster or man influenced stupidity upon its ability to continue when civilizations have destroyed large portions of this planet. Historical research is the answer to the apt ability this earth has to recover as far back as the Aztecs.
I have qualifications to comment on his proposal to the masses through this new tome he has created. I speak from the education of 3 separate degrees, of which two are Master's, so I learned long ago not to trust the pop ideas of the era and do my own research. His work is not new at all, just another piece of tripe based upon the same old old research of the past and assuming much based upon speculation or theory of the past.
My only questions to any of you in our community of FUBAR is simple: How do you see such matters and is it based upon research you do or are you like many today who merely accept whatever is dished out as tripe?
Have fun and I have very thick skin for your comments. Ive debated some of this for years and came to the conclusion many years ago, that for some, ignorance is bliss and the acceptance of no responsibility for seeking truth over tripe. |
