What color tattoos are best in bed?...Hello? Is this thing on?
Okay, seriously, I live in an apartment complex. My neighbor next door is a lunatic, basically. He screams in the middle of the night for hours on end at least a couple of times per week. Sometimes he alternates between screaming and crying and/or praying. Most of the time, I can hear every word from several feet away from the wall we share. We were warned when we first moved in by a couple of our neighbors that he is violent and unstable. The word around the complex is that he's been arrested a few times and beats on women. I've heard him arguing with a woman over there and seen her leave in a very frightened state before.
I feel that this has gone on long enough. I have a bit of a criminal record from when I was a teenager, but convicted as an adult, and can't afford to catch any assault charges. Keeping all of this in mind, do I confront him and ask him politely to do what I've asked some of our lackluster guest mummers to do, or just call the police the next time he does it? I'm not enthusiastic about this last choice, either, because I've resented having the police called on me back home by neighbors who didn't bother to ask us to keep it down first, and would thus feel like a hypocrite. So it's somewhat of a catch-22 for me. So what would you do? |
