Can two people of the opposite sex be friends...simply friends, no strings, no expectations beyond those that one would have for same sex friends?
Several gents I know, those that I dated and those that I considered simply friends with no plans for anything more, have told me guys do not 'just' become friends with a woman without some hope or desire for some kind of intimacy. Some even go so far as to say that guys don't even talk to a chick without some fantasy of banging her runs through their minds. I say bullcrap because a couple of the fellas who told me this, knew beyond a shadow of a doubt there would not ever be anything between us (friends of boyfriends & friends that had even told me we'd be totally incompatible in the dating field). And the guys that I date I figure say this because they don't want imagined competition of "guy friends".
So, back to the original question, can a heterosexual man and heterosexual woman just be friends? |
