For 2 yrs now, my oldest has been being picked on by a fellow student... Text messages, prank calls, name calling at school/ bus... Blah blah blah... Ive always believed not to bully anyone, or start stuff, but if its started~ you need to finish it... Last year I tried talking with the girls mother, we agreed they need to ignore each other... Well stuff kept going... (my daughter isnt innocent, she gets heated convo back when called)
This wkend was my daughters 14th bday, had slumber party, the girl and her friends blew home phone/ cell phones up til about 5 am... Im goin to beat u up, ur a **ssy, your this/that... I got up told the girls to stop b*tching and get it finished in the morning (sat)... Well the girl showed up sat with 2 other friends... Name calling back n forth~ then they started fighting... (just my daughter and the girl)
Few minutes the girls parents showed up~ pissy~ and they broke it up... Said I shouldnt have let them fight, but we should have tried something else... (for 1 her daughter grabbed mine from behind by the hair~ sorry we dont back down)
Basically~ in todays society~ when are you to break up a fight? I grew up knowing it was when someone was gettin beat down, or someone gave up, said they were done...
Should I have broken it up or let them get it out of their system?
(the girl stated she was goin to be civil now/ shes done with it) |
