I've decided recently not to accept friend requests from people I've never actually conversed with. I'm also not going to fan someone just because they fanned me, and I don't even always rate someone's pictures just because they did mine. Nowhere on my profile do I implore people to rate, fan, or add me.
Sometimes I look at other people's profiles, predominantly women, in all honesty, who have all these rules listed about adding them or communicating with them, etc. While I understand and respect the reasons that many people post these sorts of protocols, if you will, on their profiles, it's something that I've always wanted to stay away from doing, personally.
At this point, I'm thinking that it might be worth doing to inform visitors to my profile of what they should expect of me. On the other hand, as I stated, I don't mislead them into having false expectations as it is, and I feel that it is not very representative of who I am (which is what the profile is supposed to be) to post rules or criteria for interacting with me or being my friend.
So help me make up my mind, mummers. |
