Ok, so basically, I used to have this piercing that I loved, called and anti-eyebrow, placed just below my right eye. But it was done with a curved eyebrow barbell and subsequently rejected. I'm getting it re-done this week for my early birthday present and am trying to decide if I want to go with a dermal anchor (which is pretty much a metal "foot" with a threaded post sticking up on one end that is implanted into the skin, so that the post sticks up, and that is what your jewelry screws onto) which has virtually no chance of rejecting as long as I take care of it, or if I want to go with a regular surface bar, which is sort of shaped like a staple and has balls on both ends. The surface bar would be much, much easier to remove if I decide that I want to take it out, or if I should need to take it out, but there is a much higher chance of it rejecting and leaving a scar or something similar. The dermal anchor can be removed, with a procedure much like the initial piercing, but it's a little more involved than just unscrewing it and slipping it out. The dermal anchoring is also a relatively new procedure. Opinions?
(and I don't need the "you're stupid for getting holes poked in your face" responses, just looking for some opinions, especially from those here on CT who already have mods and may be familiar with dermal anchors) |
