They are still talking about making the trains in my city electric.
Then they tell us there will be power cuts due to short supply/excess demand.
Surely adding electric trains will just make that worse.
So they are going to increase the price of petrol to pay for electric trains then increase the price of electricity because of increased demand.
I predict Aucklanders living near train lines sitting in the dark due to power cuts watching fully lit empty electric trains go past.
Another thing about electricity prices.
Demand goes up so the price goes up (well that is how free trade capitalistic economies work I guess).
The thing is the cost of producing the electricity hasn't changed so really all that is happening is we are paying more and the electricity producers are making more money.
Sounds like profiteering to me.
