So, I've been reading some...interesting banter about the current presidential hopefuls. It always amazes me how many people are either misinformed, or just plain ignorant. And I've come to realize that the ignorant and misinformed make up a very large part of the population. That scares me. It scares me that some of these people will cast a vote that carries the same weight as my own in the upcoming presidential election.
So, then I had the thought, what if everyone's vote could be weighted by their IQ? On, one hand, it's a great idea. Those who are more likely to be well-informed and aware would have more of a say in what happens. But, at the same time, it makes me think of back when a black man was only counted as 3/5 of a man. It's prejudiced. But, can a system be prejudiced for the good? |
