Carmina's kiss was soothing, her hands touched his face gently, penetrating his thoughts, agitating his inner demons, until he whispered them calm. He stared deep into her eyes, became lost and never wanted to be found, the wind blew hard against the window, he jumped. She kissed him harder, longer, begging him to take her as a storm threatened outside, and inside their hearts.
The rain poured heavily, lightning flashed, and thunder rumbled like a mischief child in the attic. Carmina stopped his kiss, his heart...again. Naked she ran, pulling him along with her, down the stairs, out the back door, through the soft grass, she laughed. He remained silent, but followed as if he were under a spell. She weaved through the garden maze, straight through puddles of water until she reached the center. Surrounded by marbled statues posing like a frozen audience, she dropped to her knees and devoured him, all of him, intoxicating him slowly.
On the cold ground he lay, staring at the great expanse, looking for heaven, and then she appeared, shadowing his doubt, clouding his thoughts, his peace, and sat upon another woman's throne like a thief.
