You have been working for a company as a consultant for over a year (1 year 3 months to be exact) and an opening in your job title (level 2 helpdesk support) opens up and it will be a permanent position.
the job is posted and you apply for it, however the manager of the department tells you they want to wait another 6 months before considering hiring you on permanently. But he is still interviewing people to feel the position in.
My question is
Would you wait it out another six months or would you explore your options else where?
FYI... you are currently paid $18.50 an hour (below requested salary) and the permanent position would have put you at 24 dollars an hour.
