Martial arts, role playing games, comic books, video games, movies, kayaking, magick, philosophy, reading, writing, and the most ubiquitous of them all, sex. I used to be the perennial Star Wars geek, until The Phantom Menace poisoned my childhood. I still enjoy the movies, but not as much as I once did because now I can't help but see Darth Vader as a whiny brat. In addition, I've enjoyed all three X-Men movies, both Spider-Man movies to date, Blade, Serenity, Underworld and it's sequel...I'm sure you've got a feel for the kinds of movies I like by now. Except for one film that doesn't fit the usual mold for movies that I like: Roxanne. Yes, I love that silly, sappy romantic comedy. Somehow, I think I can relate to the main character. I try not to watch too much television, but I seem to be unable to escape from it. Because I know that television can be such a mind-numbing experience, I read during the commercials, just to make my brain wake back up. Regardless, here are the shows that I actually watch: The Simpsons, Family Guy, Robot Chicken, Venture Brothers, anything UFC, Aqua Teen Hunger Force, and Heroes. I actually read a lot of non-fiction. Most people that I share this bit of information with wonder how I can possibly stand to read through a bunch of boring text about the real world and how it works. Well, I find it fascinating to learn new things about the world, ourselves, and our history. For my fiction needs, I usually read compilations of short stories. Currently, I'm reading both The Mammoth Book of Best New Horror 15 and The Mammoth Book of Best New Erotica 2. Furthermore, I read a lot of comic books. I'll list my monthly pull here later.
