My son got some stuff from his grand parents that he's not fond of and he wants to take it back for something else. Do I let him do it and get what he wants? Or should I make him keep it and try to teach him the value of "it's the thought that counts"? My instinct is to make him keep it to show loyalty and appreciation to his family, but I'm afraid I may be forceing my issues upon him. What do you think?
