I am retired from a general motors plant in Anderson Indiana, and now run my own Lawn care business. I live alone, but have three grown children and three grandchidren. I like to play hearts online (it's a card game BTW). I like to travel although I don't get to do a lot of it right now. I also like to write poetry, I shall add a few here and perhaps it will give an idea as to what i am inside.

Distant Bell
.
To my heart calls a distant bell that rings
From a land of angels, harps, and kings
Rushing swiftly in the wind, like masts amid the vale
Of mighty ships abreast the sea waiting there to sail
.
Her voice doth call from a time I do not know
Her gleaming hair like sunlight from long ago
She stays in the twilight under a secret hood
Like early shadows unfolding from a distant wood

Alone I sit; alone I'll stay
To wait upon the coming day
When she doth cross the vast wide land
And yield to me her soft sweet hand

I sat upon my island throne
Meditating all alone
I'd been here for so long it seems
With water shimmering under moonlit beams

There came a sailing cross the sea
A ship that sailed so sweet to me
With sails of silver in a moonlit sky
Her beauty welcome to my eye

She pulled to shore and cast a line
This classy lady who looked so fine
My icy heart began to melt
With newborn love that it had felt

I walked across the open beach
And out to her my heart did reach
Her eyes caught mine, a spark did leap
From a radiant glow within her deep
.
As we entwined in warm embrace
We knew we both had found our place
Together now forevermore
We stand upon the island shore

ride upon my thoughts casting visions of an enchanting bell.
Dreams floating in the winds of time upon my mind does dwell,
calling to my soul the sounds of that long lost lonely bell.

A bell that rang the sounds of hope for all mankind.
A bell that touched the ear with peace to ease the troubled mind ,
rasing the dead, healing the sick, bestowing sight unto the blind .
Search your soul when darkness comes, for it is there, and you shall find.

Demons thrive within us all out of depression, and of fear.
The more these demons are summoned forth the easier they appear.
When temptations come to cower you strike not the apple with the spear,
but conquer the demon's darkness with love and abundance of cheer.

The bell will never leave you no matter what you do.
To your own heart, not the serpent, must you be true.
Times get hard and times get rough, but times are just a few,
when you think of eternal rapture with the bell that brought love to you.
