This is an excerpt from an article by U.S. News & World Report, about a study that has been reported on by multiple news outlets:

"A study published last week in Pediatrics found that by age 9, about 80 percent of obese girls had begun to develop breasts, compared with 58 percent of those who were overweight and 40 percent of those who were within the normal weight range. Those whose body mass index increased most rapidly over time were far more likely to have gotten a period by age 11."

This is an excerpt from MSNBC.com about a study that was done in 2005:

"Nearly 3 in 10 (27%) thirteen to sixteen year-olds are sexually active and have been with someone in an intimate or sexual way."

Given that the number of overweight children in the United States has doubled over the last twenty years, do you think that this has had an effect on the sexual activity of adolescents and teenagers?
