Endless years stumbling around,
Will I ever be found?
Are my pleads forever gone,
or does my memory still linger on?
Why do all I seem to cry are unseen tears,
why do all my screams fall upon deaf ears?
I give up- I'm admitting my sweet defeat,
the only sound-an echo of my heartbeat.
As the darkness engulfs, my voice fails,
I'm through- I've dropped my doubt and care,
as the darkness chokes, leaving my lungs gasping for air
My voice shatters, I manage out a cry,
I scream and fall, sobbing bitterly
Waiting for a reply
A stagger to my feet,
only to hear the echo of my heartbeat
My heart, the only thing living wihtin me
still beats on- to that same repeat
My one enemy- my one rival the on I hate
is...the echo of my heartbeat.
