Real friends are sometimes very hard to come by at times. In my opinion, a real friend is a person that is always there for you no matter what happens in your life, gives you the same respect you give them, someone that you trust with all your secrets (whether they be good or bad) and not tell, enjoys some of the same things in life that you do, picks you up when you are down, honest, treats you like they treat their other friends, can take criticism when given, and treats you no different when they are around other friends or someone they are in a relationship with. Some people have more than one real friend and others don't. Myself, I have more than one, these are people that I either went to school with for years or work with. If you are not ready or don't want to be friends someone then you shouldn't try to be b/c someone ends getting hurt in the long run and ending the friendship when they really don't want to do it. I hope whomever reads this takes this into consideration and understands what it takes to be a real friend to someone.
