So I was reading one of my friend's page and saw something he wrote that inspired me to write this.
Where did all the real men go? Where are the guys that gave compliments and meant them? Where are the guys that hold doors and make you feel like you're important? Where are the men who realize that life isn't easy and that you have to work hard at everything you do? What happened to responsibility and to honor? What happened to acting like a man? When your woman is crying you don't tell her to man up. That's what, I dunno, MEN are for. A man doesn't sleep with a woman then walk away. That's what cowards do. It's not even about the ideals that you have or the manners you've attained, it's about a lifestyle choice, a state of mind, a set of values, and never backing down when you shouldn't. It's about saying what you mean and meaning what you say. Never giving empty promises. Never lying for the sake of lying. It's about figuring out what needs to be done then doing it. It's about keeping your family safe and cared for. It's about never running away or letting someone make you feel inferior. A man is a rock. Steadfast, strong, impenetrable, weathered, hard. |
