Hello Cherry Tapers:

A little about my self, Well where to start I am not that complicated pretty much what you see is what you get with me. I think the world is mostly black and white in which there is no gray area it is either yes or no you will you will not.
I am big time in to Scuba Diving as you can tell I am a real ScubaHolic.
I am a volunteer with the local sheriff's Search and Rescue URT (Underwater Recovery Team) I find this type of work to be as rewarding, as it is hard. I know this is a job a lot of folks cant do but it is one that must be done by some one,
I believe every one should give back in some way to the community they live in and this is my small way of doing my part.

I mostly do a lot of diving just to take pictures of the fish and critters I see on my dives so check out my pictures I have posted and be sure to leave a comment so I know if you enjoyed them or not . And if you see, one you like fell free to rip it and use it as wallpaper I would not mind at all.

If im not diving or at work I spend a lot of time on the beach or just kicking back at home. Hanging out with friends and family, or playing my video games im addicted to WWII first person shooter games,

Home is a little place called Warrenton OR. Just a couple miles south of Astoria Im not more then ¼ mile from the beach or 5 miles from the mountains . For a guy that grew up Ohio this is like a piece of paradise here.

I have a very wide of taste in music I enjoy every thing from Bach and Mozart to Opera and even some Matchbox 20 and Shaggy thrown in for good measure. If you turn my stereo on there is no telling what will come out of it.

Remember to think of our men and women in uniform in harms way while you are saying your prayers tonight
It is through there hard work and sacrifice that we can enjoy a quite evening at home or doing what ever it is you do while they take all the risk and some make the ultimate sacrifice for our Freedom

The Earth is more then 3/4 coverd by water. This place cant be all that bad after all.

You see I am the true Scubaholic, I live for scuba Diving
I only work to suport my dive habit.

Diving in the beautiful Pacific North West is in my book the best in the world, it just do not get any better then this.
You can have that warm water diving. Its ok I guess if you like diving in your bathtub, sure the visibility is better.
But here in the Pacific North West it is possible to see the Giant Pacific Octopus the largest Octopus in the world
Or one might find a 6 Gill Shark a truly magnificent creature. Or you may encounter one of the many Nudiebranch,
All though it is a small creature is one of the most beautiful and colorful things I have ever seen.

As soon as I figure out how I will post some of the pictures, I have taken while diving around here I would realy like to read your comments, I think you will agree with me if you could only experience a dive here or if not at least feel free to enjoy the pictures I post here .

Idols

Welcome Friends/Family:

I thought considering some of you do not dive I would tell you what it's like to dive in the Pacific Northwest.

Well for starters, it is actually one of the best things I have ever done. I have the chance to meet and dive with some of the best folks you would ever want to meet. Like for example My Dive Buddy Jay Murphy, Jay is a Career officer in the US Coast Grad. And he and I have been diving together almost as long as I have been diving. In fact, I mention this because if you check back here often enough you will be able to read about the dives as Jay and I make them and I will be sharing the photos from that dive with you in my Picture gallery.

As to the diving in the Northwest it is like nothing, you will experience in your life for a number of reasons.

Some of which I will attempt to cover for you here and in future stories I post to this web page so please visit often and let me know what you think. There is a link t the bottom of the page so you may do this.

I think the reason Scuba Diving in the Pacific Northwest is so much fun is for a number of reasons and here are a few. I have learned that cold water holds oxygen better then warmer water does so this would account for a lot of our wide variety of Sea life The fact that our water is colder then the oceans in other parts of the world also accounts for the fact that some fish and animals that live in the pacific Northwest are so big. They simply have to be in order to survive as to the water temperature, which ranges from the mid 40s f to the mid 50s f year round I have found that from time to time, it is actually warmer in the water then it is on the surface. I can remember a dive jay and I were doing last December just a few days before Christmas the temperature out side was 38 degrees and the water was a nice warm 42 degrees. It seems the water temperature is greatly influenced by the currents, and the type of weather we have been having for the last few days before our dive.

The tide and current is some thing we must take in to account when we are planning our dives for the simple reason the tide exchanges can be very big out here. By this, I mean that say you are diving in a hole during high tide and it is 50 feet deep by the time the tide goes out that same hole can be only 20 feet deep in a mater of about an hour and a half or less. So by keeping a good eye on the tide and current charts we can figure out when is the best time to make a nice easy dive. And the easer the dive the slower we will use up our air supply in the scuba tanks.

The visibility under water can very from a few inches to as much as 20 to 30 feet on a good day. So it helps if we are comfortable in low visibility and the cold water. It is also a big plus in that Jay and I dive so often to gather we some times think alike, I know how Jay will react in a given situation and he knows how I will react to the same situation.

I hope this helps you to understand some of what diving here in the pacific northwest is like .As I also this will make you want to check back often to see what new adventures I have been having as well.

I have already posted a few pictures from a couple dives and will be posting more in time

And rember 3/4 of this planet is coverd in water so i gess this might not be such a bad place after all

Video Games
I am adicted to first person shooters.
I like the puzle type games as well you know like ICO I wish they would make a new ICO that game was the best
