This isn't so much a question as it is more a request for an opinion.
I have been recently diagnosed with thyroid cancer and if I do nothing I have maybe a year, but if I have a thyroidectomy, I have the rest of my natural life.
NO PITY PLEASE THAT IS NOT WHAT THIS IS FOR! AND MAYBE JUST ONCE THE RUDE COMMENTS WON'T BE ON HERE! (I know they will be though- so I'm expecting them)
So this is my opinion: I think I should live life naturally, which means saying no to surgery, and just accept the time I've been given, and enjoy it as much as possible.
My family/friends opinion: Have surgery, take pills for the rest of my life and prolong it as much as possible, including taking the risk of the cancer spreading after surgery.
So if you knew you had limited time - would you accept it and prepare for it (not lie down and give up-that's different) or prolong it and see what the future holds? HONESTLY! |
