A Michigan boy... for nearly 30 years. I watched my beloved home state fall part. I have moved to California recently and am enjoying the weather, healthy foods and friends that I have here. I am always looking to add more friends. If you want to know what I am all about - please enjoy reading the following lengthy dissertation. Why do we ask the question if we don’t want to hear the answer? That statement is not profoundly deep, but it surmises our world way too accurately. Look up the lyrics to The “Seeker” by the Who. Listen to Billy Joel’s “My Life.” What happened to trying to better ourselves!? Why don’t we question more? Why don’t we stand up for people and ourselves!? Have we really lost our edge? There is such a big world out there and you can either spend your life looking from the inside out… or you can explore, learn, SEEK. There is bad luck in the world, but if you let it linger, if you hold on to it, it will not leave you. I believe that anger is like a virus and you have to let it run its course, let the fever break – and then heal thyself. How many people dropped off at this point? How many of the hot myspace girls are still reading? What is more important? The attention you get off of myspace from ripped abs guys and bonehead comments like, “Yo, I’d like to tap that…” or the would you rather use myspace to meet great people, discuss ideas? Personally, I would like to find a hot girl who wants to discuss the arts and sciences, but doesn’t mind that secretly I am pining for her… I think its called discretion, tact, a thrill. We are too uptight here. Sexuality should be saluted, not feared. Intimacy is not gained through sex, its gained by spending time with someone, learning to love them, learning to accept them… and to be vulnerable around them. Sex is brilliant, amazing and healthy. I don’t mean healthy as in… “normal.” I mean, you need to have sex. You need to be touched. You need to explore. Yet, we make sex the pinnacle of a relationship. That is so fucking ridiculous. I am not advocating that you run around sleeping with anything that moves. (sleeping with something moving gives a funny visual) I am advocating that we go back to making out, feeling up, dry humping… and yeah… screwing when we think we should…being discrete, being tactful, and living the thrill. Then again, anyone still reading this – either agrees or is outraged and the masses who I dearly want to share this with are out on 6th street proving that popularity really is a state of mind. Want to know more? Write me – or IM me: shavers21 (on aol). Oh…and don’t forget to look up those song lyrics… and while you are at it. Use these too: When you need inspiration… I will not be Broken by Bonnie Raitt, When you have to accept that someone you love has lied to you… Dirty Little Secret – Sarah Mclachlan. I am a writer, former band manager, and music, film, literature afficianado (which is a nice way of saying snob)... I recently got in trouble at the bar by a beautiful woman for pointing out that she had very large feet... later in the evening - not knowing her name, I called out..."Come here Big Foot" -- needless to say - that kind of rudeness is not acceptable, but as Robin Williams said... "If Alcohol is a crutch...then Jack Daniels is a wheelchair" --and that night, I was in a wheelchair. I hope to meet some really nice and fun people that I can talk to about music and life. I am liberal, but -- that doesnt mean that I dont respect other peoples political view points.
