Should Internet Radio Pay more????

As you all probably know by now, I am a morning personality on www.hotrocksradio.com and do a show every Mon, Wed and Thur from 9am to Noon Eastern time. Lately, the organization that receives royalty payments for every song that is played on the radio is asking to receive a higher amount per song / per listener than what the standard AM/FM radio stations pay. Being a musician myself, I appreciate all of the internet radio stations that follow the rules and pay royalties, but I see no reason that they should pay more for each song, than the other stations do. What do you think???
