| I have recently...ok not recently but actually dealing with for the last four years, over controlling, and down right over baring parents. Considering, I know they are trying to protect myself and my three kids after the loss of my husband. My ordeal IS, at this moment, that it has come to a time that moving on is definately in my best interest, with little to no support (or any encouragement) from them (my parents), who dwell constantly on the idea and giving the "pitty her" speech to everyone. SOON (crossing my fingers), I will have the opportunity to actually relocate, doing what I have to do in order to better provide for my family. Even knowing they won't support the idea, do I go? Do I finally become selfish and think of what will make ME happy in the long run knowing that their bitterness will cause them to not talk to me for a really long time. OR should I continue trying to please them? They don't know what its like, they have been happily married for over 30 years (after only knowing each other for 30 days....don't see that everyday). are they over reacting or not? |
