I was watching Oprah's show on Friday.
It is by far the most interesting topic She has had in quite a while, in my opinion.
It was dealing with the worlds first sperm donated children, who have begun to reach adulhood.
She had a doctor that actually donated three times a week for four years, while in graduate school.
At $40.00 a donation, it became part of his routine, for his disposable income. At present he has learned that he "fathered" 9 kids. Another man learned he had seven kids from his donations.
These children have been raised with the explanation and understanding of their unusual existence. So it hasn't been a mystery in their lives or a "family secret".
These adult children are searching for their biological fathers as well as their extended siblings. There is even a web site to connect these individuals. (Donor Sibling Registry)
If you donated, would you want to connect with your offspring? Why or Why not?
