Interests
A LOT of things interest me. I love music, as you saw above, writing, reading poetry and novels, the man I LOVE is a HUGE interest to me
)))), my children, water, nature, and picking people's brains.
Since the thing that interests me most is my writing I thought I would share a few with ya'll. This is my life's blood. Without it I wouldn't be the person I am.
The first one is one of my favorites. Yes it is autobiographical. Everything I write has some small part of me in it.
The Queen’s Mirror
When I look inside myself
I always find the same old thing.
No matter how hard I try
my father still lives inside of me.
Not a day goes by I’m not remind
of him in some small way.
Whether I’m wearing blue
and recall that was his favorite color.
Or I’m listening to the radio
and think he might like the song playing.
The only way he lives
is with each breath I take.
When I look inside myself
I always find the same old thing.
My family is inside me.
No matter where I look
I always find something from them.
Whether I’m looking in the mirror
and seeing my mother’s face.
Or when I look in the eyes of my children
and see myself looking back.
Without my family
I wouldn’t be complete.
When I look inside myself
I always find something new.
The love of friends live inside of me.
Whether I’m at the computer
chatting in e-mail all day.
Or when I’m on the phone
laughing up a storm at something they’ve said.
Without friends life wouldn’t be
worthy sharing.
When I look inside myself
I always find something new.
You are the biggest part of me.
Your love makes my mind spin,
my heart beat,
and my soul sing.
Whether I’m far away,
or right beside you,
when I look in your eyes
I see home.
The best thing about looking inside myself
is I can see a new person.
For so long I’ve hidden behind a mask
so the outside world couldn’t hurt me.
Now I know the only one who was hurting me
was myself.
I can be me and still experience life to the fullest.
I can give love,
be loved,
enjoy happiness,
and experience sadness.
For those things live inside us all.
To key to life is feeling them.

This is one of my favorites but it embarrassed the one I wrote about LOL. I use it because it's really one of the best I've ever done.
In Your Absence
What do I miss when you're gone?
I pine for your eyes.
Oh how they shine
when you look at me.
Love is there for all the world to see.
They burn with
a desire to be different,
unfulfilled fantasies you won't turn into reality,
and dreams which shouldn't be visualized.
I ache for your voice.
Oh how it vibrates
throughout my soul.
I love to hear you whisper in my ear,
speak in that tone when you're thinking
about things you don't want to talk about,
and the way you say my name.
You speak with
love in your voice,
longing in your heart,
and an ache inside your soul.
I hanker for your touch.
Oh how it makes me
desire to, not only be with you,
but also, become lost inside of you.
With just one caress
you have the power to make me melt.
You touch with
kindness you share with the world,
fear you reserve for the bad times,
and a gentleness you show only to me.
I yearn for your mouth.
Oh how it give me goose bumps
when you kiss me, bite me,
or when you're doing that special thing you do.
You kiss with
vitality you don't like to have,
desperation you wish you could ignore,
and affection you long to give more of.
I pant for your body.
Oh how it thrills me
to be able to join with it.
Whether it's beside,
in front of, or underneath your
strong, sexy, and impressive masculine physique
I'm in ecstasy.
You make love with
a passion that can't be denied,
a fire that can't be turned off,
and a wild abandon for completion.
I desire for your heart.
Oh how it excites me
to know you feel the same way.
Your heart is filled with beautiful poetry,
an amazing song,
and a deep longing for unconditional love returned.
You love me with
all that you were,
all that you are,
and all that you want to become.
I covet your soul.
Oh how beautiful it is
to know there's someone who
has captured the essence of romance.
Whether we're on the phone,
getting interrupted by business,
in front of me,
talking about your children,
or whether we're miles apart,
I feel your soul joining with mine.
You shine with
a power of indescribable measure,
a righteousness unmatched,
and a light which can't be extinguished.
With all this said,
there's just one more thing I want
when you're gone and that is
you in your entirety.
I feel so loved
but at the same time I'm misplaced.
You are my
the best friend I've ever had,
the greatest love of my life,
and the other half of myself.
Thank you for showing me
how great the world is
when you're in love with someone
as awesome as you.

The last is one of my boyfriend's favorite poems by me. It really touched him and cracked the inner shell just a little ;o).
Lover’s Leftovers
Someone softly snoring.
The humming air conditioner.
The keys going clickety-clack as I pound out words.
The dogs, in the living room, carrying on a ruckus.
The ones on the bed in dog dreamland.
All of these signify my house at rest.
The only sound I can't hear is my heartbeat.
It's over forty miles away laying in peaceful sleep.
How I wish, on this night, it blocked out the noise instead.
