Those in favor of simplified spelling say children would learn faster and illiteracy rates would drop. Opponents say a new system would make spelling even more confusing.
Eether wae, the consept has yet to capcher th publix imajinaeshun.

Okay, I think that's enough to give you the basic idea of what is being proposed by the American Literacy Council.
What do you think about this issue?
Does it make sense to have a language whose spelling oftentimes has more to do with memorization, where sounding words out doesn't always lead to the correct pronunciation? Or should we undo hundreds of years of this language to make things simpler for future generations?
