Looking for a friend


I know that we all are
looking for a true friend
a friend that will stand by our
side through thick and thin

someone who will love us
for whom we are,
And will know deep inside
that you are no one's toy.

To hold and cherish you all
the days of our life
To be your friend, partner, lover
until the day you die.

We are all looking for this
friendship of love,
Take your time and let
God bless you from above,
with a love that is as white
and pure as a dove.

We all need a friend that
will care for us,
and in whom we can put
our trust.

A friend that will hold us
in the sad times,
and bring peace to our
troubled minds.

As I sit here writing
this poem to all of you this day,
my prayer is that happiness
will come your way.

Remember there are some good
men and women as well as bad,
there are some that will
hurt you to your heart and
make your heart sad.

But there are those that are good,
who are so many times
often misunderstood.

Just because a person is too
fat, short or too thin,
doesn't mean that they don't
have lots of love to give from within.

We sometimes miss our blessings
because of the way a person looks,
and go for the one with
the good looks, only to find out
that he is the biggest crook, that
took you for more than your pocket book.

Beauty is only skin
deep, for true beauty come
from within the soul,
this you will see as your
life's story continues to unfold.

Never go for how a person
looks, for that will only
deceive you in the the end,
look at what that person have
to give from within.

If the person has beauty on the
inside, then you will know, that
this person has beauty through and
through,
and a friendship that can
be true.

So here we are,
looking from ever so far,
for the love of your life
to come your way
smile, for this could
be your day.
