Now before you even start the argument of if you don't vote then your opinion doesn't matter. That is a common false idea. I have opinions, and just because I choose not to participate in the sham we call elections, doesn't mean they are any less important than anyone elses. The basic fact is, our vote doesn't matter. If it did, the "American Idiot" as you call him would never have made it into the office to begin with. We all know Gore won the popular vote. But because of the "Electoral College" aka who "they" want for president, wanted Bush we got Bush. Because the federal government says illegal aliens have rights, the states haven't been able to do anything about them for years, costing the taxpayers of California alone 4 BILLION dollars annually. Because the state government wont enforce immigration laws, illegal aliens pay 1/3 the tuition to attend UC colleges where normal citizens have to pay full price. Because federal drug laws say no, states like California where medical marijuana was passed on the ballot by over 70% of the voters is still illegal.
Now don't get me wrong, government does what it does. Comparing it to other countries like say North Korea, or China or third world countries it does what it does better than most. But to think that we actually have some say in the process is pretty rediculous. The fact is, our country is run by big business. There is big business in war, and hate. There is big business in oil (why else would every alternate fuel source patent be bought up and shelved by the oil industry). There is big business in being known as the bully of the world. Regardless of which figurehead runs it. Because in reality, that is all he is. Someone to sign the papers and take the fall if need be.
So I choose not to choose. I play by the rules, because I have to. I pay my taxes, I don't rob people, I try to be a good person. But I really say...
Please don't vote... It only encourages the bastards..
