| Last week at work I found a mechanical error on a machine which caused some of the wrong stuff to go to the wrong place. The stuff was returned the next night and as we ran it thru the machine we found the problem. I was asked by my supervisors boss for a statement about the error for the big boss. Now they have given me a letter of warning for the error, using my statement about the mechanical error of the machine which was undetectable until the next night. I can take the letter of warning and my supervisor has said he will show his boss he gave it to me but remove it the next day or I can tell him I want the letter of warning to stand and fight it bringing attention to the problem of the message the letter of warning sends..... If you find the reason that something went wrong that no one else was able to figure out and correct the problem you should not come forward and tell what the problem was because they will only make you the fall guy. So should I let the supervisor pull the letter or should I let the letter stand on principle and expose problems of the message the letter sends? Please bote YAY to let the letter stand and nay to let the letter be pulled? |
