Where is the Love?
Body: Did yall see on the news last night where a Saints fan was told by a Bears fan that he should have drowned in the 11 ft. of water in his house. They threw beer at Saints fans all night. They were running into and cursing at women Saints fans that were being interviewed. I also just spoke to a coworker whose sister, her husband, and some friends went up. The husband went to the bathroom by himself and was roughed up. The Bears fans told him they were going to flush him like Katrina flushed New Orleans down the toilet and proceeded to flush his Saints hat down. Who ARE these people? They should be ashamed of themselves. It's one thing to talk about who has the better game, players, etc. It's another to talk about personal tragedy in that manner."
What is wrong with people these days??? What happened to our decency??? Our compassion??? To have our fellow Americans treat us NOLA people this way... and we thought we only had to worry about terrorists. Makes me sick to my stomach. And it's not just happening in Chicago. I've had people tell me, once they've learned I'm from New Orleans, that the city shouldn't be rebuilt... that they are tired of hearing about Katrina... and these are people who have NEVER stepped foot in the city... before OR after the hurricane.
Don't get me wrong, there are many people who have poured their hearts and souls out to the people of New Orleans and truly do sympathize with us, but I still can't believe the nerve of some of the others. What's going on???
