I am almost 40 years old, and Im starting over in the relationship scene (after my husband passed away feb '07)

I have gone out on a few dates with some very nice ppl, but it seems to me that all single persons (non-parents) want is just a sexual conquest. Now im just like the next person, i feel im a typical hot-blooded American female, with needs & urges. But i dont feel i should engage in 1-nite stands just so i am not lonely.

My quandary is this: should i for-go long-term happiness for somewhat instant gratification, or should i hold out till someone sincere comes along?

Any and all advice is greaatly appreciated.
